Lucy sat there currently unaware of her surroundings; she enjoyed the singing of the birds and the sound of the leaves blowing in the wind. It was a peaceful moment and she smiled to herself sitting down on a fallen log and watching the world go by. Though she was alone, she didn't feel along and rested her hand on a nearby tree. "Such a beautiful day," she commented below her breath. A soft smile rested upon her facade and a calm aurora was about. From the days of past chaos and more probably ahead, today was contrasting all she had felt within the many hours and it was nice to feel this way: not a worry in the world, like she could sit here forever. Her gaze rested on the pool of water and she lazily picked up a rock, tossing it out but it didn't go very far. With a plop into the water, she watched the rock sink. Despite the fact that there was really no one to talk to, she liked being silent and listening to the song of life singing all around her, from the trees to the birds to even some bugs and frogs that were nearby. There was a crack of a fallen twig or something but she didn't think to look back: her assumption was merely an animal scampering across or something of the sort.

Susan rode her horse happily along, asking him to find her sister for her, and he obliged, leading her to a very lovely looking area, and she smiled as she caught sight of her younger sister. The young woman, who would be 17 in a week dismounted Storm gracefully, before she sent him off to graze, as she began walking up to Lucy. Seeing her sitting on a log, she hurriedly sat down beside Lucy, a serene, and very bright smile on her face. "Lu, can we talk as we used to? You know, with no worries, and no arguments. Just, girl to girl?" Susan asked softly, wondering how she would tell her dear little sister that she was engaged, and what Lucy would say to that. It was hard for Susan to explain it to anyone, she was too flustered, too happy, and yet at the same time, sad, because she would in a way leave her siblings, though she would still rule Narnia with them, it would seem a little different. Susan stared at the cauldron pool before her, wondering what Jake would say to Peter, but then she figured, her conversation with Lucy would come first, she owed her little sister that much at least, if not more.

It surprised her to see Susan there so quickly: she hadn't expected anyone to really come out here. At first she was puzzled. Why would Susan want to talk?--she concluded that there was something on her sister's mind, or something terribly important had come up. Yet she seemed rather excited. But instead of trying to figure out the reasons behind her sister's odd behavior, she slowly nodded. "Sure, Su," she replied easily. "What's up?" In more ways than one, Susan seemed to be completely happy and excited. Perhaps there was a special occasion going to happen, like some sort of festival. Wouldn't that be fun? Lucy smiled lightly to herself before turning a little more serious when she looked at Susan, waiting for an explanation.

Susan bit her lip, it was a little bit hard for her to say it, because she was worried over what Lucy would think, and then whatever her brothers would think. Susan took a deep breath, and then spoke softly, "I'm engaged. Jake and I are...well that is..." Susan found it more difficult to say then she expected, her cheeks reddening in embarrasment, though she was obviously happy at the same time. One had to think it was not too long ago that Susan had believed she couldn't smile at all, and now, she felt so overjoyed, but she really longed for her younger sister's blessing. Sure, Susan would understand if her two brothers didn't give it, but Susan needed Lucy's support with this. "I don't know when we are to be....married, but I do wish you to be my maid of honor, if we do have a somewhat decent one. I have no idea why, but I seem to want to plan ahead." Susan spoke and then smiled again, looking at Lucy curiously, wondering how she would react.

Honestly this was the last thing to expect and Lucy wasn't too thrilled in all honesty. When people got married, they left. When people got married, they changed, and Susan was going to do this. Her reaction was just a frown at the moment, looking away sharply and unable to meet the gaze of her older sister. Sure Susan was happy, but Lucy felt a mixture of emotions honestly. Wasn't Susan too young? Well she wouldn't know for one and she didn't want to sound like a nagging sibling. She wasn't sure she even liked Jake; sure if Susan was happy, she'd be happy, but that didn't mean she'd have to like her brother-in-law. And calling him that almost sent a shiver up her spine. She didn't like him all that great.
Though she felt as if she were being selfish by wanting Susan to just stay Susan, not to be a wife, she couldn't help but feel that way. Lucy clenched her jaw, fighting that hurt in her throat and the natural urge to burst out crying at this moment but she held her composure as best a twelve (almost thirteen) year old could. "I'm happy for you, Su," she replied once able to actually speak without her voice cracking. And with that she forced a smile, looking at her sister. "I'll be your maid of honor, I'd love to." Susan was happy and she didn't want to ruin this for her older sister who deserved happiness, so she didn't spill out her thoughts nor would she even if at the beginning she showed her thoughts exactly. Susan would move away though which would make the castle a rather lonely place. Her brothers would still be there at least and at the moment Lucy wanted to go find Peter and Edmund, and Aslan actually, he always seemed to be able to comfort her. "I'm really happy for you and Jake Su," she went on, hugging her older sister tightly and trying to get happy.

Susan lowered her eyes for a moment as she thought. The young woman knew Lucy honestly didn't like Jake, and she understood her sister from certain perspectives. Hearing Lucy speak, she lifted her head, and smiled warmly, her eyes sparkling brightly. "Thank you Lu. I know you don't really like him, but I'm really glad you'll do this for me." Susan spoke in her soft voice, her eyes bright, though she was somewhat afraid, to leave, and be forgotten by her siblings. Though she knew they couldn't, because she was one of the Queens of Narnia, it was something that coursed through her brain when she wasn't with Jake and happy.

She realized keeping her thoughts off of her face and to herself was more or less impossible and hearing Susan acknowledge that made her flush in embarassment. Though she didn't want to hurt her sister's feelings, she couldn't seem to lie. Nevertheless Lucy was glad that Susan was still happy and not the least bit mad. "You're welcome Su," she replied. "After all, I am your sister," she added happily. Looking down for a moment, Lucy couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness to know that Susan was actually getting married. "But Su, you'll move out won't you?" Keeping this in was just impossible; Lucy figured that she had already suffered from insecurity since they had to move away from their parents, and now to let Susan go too? This was just terribly hard. "I mean... well Su, I can't help but say that I'll miss you. It won't be the same." All the while, Lucy was avoiding her sister's gaze by looking down at the ground at a green leaf.

Susan smiled at her younger sister, and simply listened to Lucy speak, because sometimes it was better than speaking all the time. But when she heard Lucy's newest question, her eyebrows furrowed, and she sat in deep thought for a minute, knowing she really didn't want to leave her siblings, not after what Peter had told her, though she didn't honestly believe all of it would happen, it could, and it bothered her. "I don't know Lucy. I really would rather stay in Cair Paravel still, but I have no idea what Jake wants." Susan spoke warmly to her sister, making it clear that she did not want to leave her siblings, she loved them way too much, and it really bothered Susan to see Lucy so sad about Susan leaving. They had never really gotten along that well, but now that Susan was possibly leaving, it seemed as things were much better between them, and yet also bad. "I understand Lucy. Everything will be different, and I would miss you desperately. You, Peter, and Edmund, are more important to me than anyone, and though I love Jake, you must know that I hadn't expected him to propose to me. And really, it would be better if we waited until I was a bit older, but..." Susan shrugged after she spoke, making it clear she had no idea that Jake wanted to marry so soon, Susan had honestly just thought it was a possibility when she was older, but he had seemed pressed to marry her, but perhaps he thought he would lose Susan if he didn't propose right away. In some way, he could have been right, but not completely.

Lucy hesitated in speech, finding that her reply--or rather retort--was not needed at this moment. She forced a smile and nodded, as if she understood the whole compromise issue with where they were going to live. "Oh," she murmured in reply. She began to wonder what would happen to her when all of the others married, well really the other two; it was a fearful thought but she brushed it back: this was not the time to think about that. The explanation made sense--some. "You could have said no," she pointed out, perhaps a little harsher than expected. "But you both haven't decided wen the wedding is yet?" So maybe it would be a whole other six months or something before the wedding. As much time as she could get, Lucy would be happy. Squirming in her seat, she desperately wanted to go somewhere else now and see how her brothers felt about this sudden and unexpected news. Maybe they were happier than she was and she did feel a bit guilty that she wasn't as happy for Susan as she probably should be.
