Susan had for once not ridden her horse to her destination. Today, she had been walking along, until she found herself at the lamp post, and wondering what she was going to do with herself. She had tried to KILL herself, and that didn't scare her as much as to know that she also barely survived, if it weren't for Aslan, her brothers, Jake, and her horse Storm. That memory would haunt her for a long time, and it didn't help much that she was feeling uneasy about her engagement to Jake without him and Ed fighting about it. Susan felt trapped between what she knew what was right, and what she knew her family thought, and she wasn't sure how to handle it anymore. The young queen looked beautiful as ever, in a purple dress, but today, she didn't even feel glad to have so many great things. And now, for the first time, she understood sort of how Peter's mind must have been messed up by whatever poison he had. Susan sat down and leaned against the lamp post, her arms wrapped around her knees, as she considered everything that had happened.

The wind blew in the trees, things had been troubling the young King as he walked through the forest, memories of the Witch were still in his mind, and with Peter being poisoned it made him feel that the Witch was actually alive in these woods and causing all this trouble.
Susan had tried to kill herself which made Edmund even more terrified of what Narnia was becoming, with the two kings seeing things and the Queen trying to kill herself, it left the whole kingdom to Lucy and that would not do. Edmund was deep in thought, he wore his normal royal clothing, coming through the woods silently until he discovered that he was near the very spot where all their adventure had begun...the lamp post.
And his sister was there also...Susan. "Hey Su." he muttered as he came towards his elder sister, she looked troubled. He approached her and gave her a light hug, a family hug, suddenly he realized that maybe he wanted to go home...back to England...

Susan glanced up from her knees, and was startled to see Edmund coming up, and she smiled slightly to him, before once again she furrowed her eyebrows thinking. What would have happened if they hadn't come in time...? Susan didn't want to think about it. Her whole body shuddered, before she softly said, "Hi Ed." And then she felt him hug her, and she smiled, before she hugged him back, a bit tighter than he had, but she was still feeling horrible, like she had been doing everything wrong. A faint smile came on her lips, and she wondered why he had come here. But she had to keep him feeling alright, because it bothered her the most when Ed or Peter cried, because they were stronger, in her opinion. "What brings you out here?" The young queen questioned, not trying to make him tell her, but if he did she'd be glad to know. It was sort of their silent rule, they could ask, but if the question wasn't answered, they would not bother over it.

"What brings you out here?" Edmund shrugged and watched his sister carefully. He sat down next to her and wrapped his knees around his arms like herself. "I came to see if the wardrobe was still here, and it is." Edmund looked through the trees towards the glittering light just visible.
"Susan." he said, turning to her, "I want to go home."
He hadn't told anyone this, he had been thinking if over the last couple of days, all the nightmares and visions had left him empty, he didn't want to be here. Even though he found someone to love...Akira...she could come with them he supposed, but what would the old professor say when they turned up with another? He looked away from Susan and stared at the leaves that rustled on the ground.

Susan glanced at her brother in surprise. He wanted to go back home? But didn't he like it in Narnia? Her eyes were wide, as she watched him, and then she felt bad. He had gone through way worse than any other of her siblings, with the white witch and so on. But to go home, where all that they had was news of the war, and waiting for the chance to go back home and see their mother again. And who knew how father was doing, he was fighting in the war, and some who fought never would come back. Susan bit her lip. This wasn't good...not at all. Susan finally felt as though she didn't need to worry as much, and that her family was starting to get along again, but if they went back....would it all shatter again, like glass? Susan's lips quivered, and she looked as though she was tempted to cry, but she controlled herself, and simply spoke, "Why Ed?" It was hard for her to even say that, instead of suggesting he do something to feel better and forget the whole thing, but no. This time Susan wanted to know his reason why he wanted to go back to the Professor's house. Susan really did miss her mum, and she felt bad for not wanting to go back, but the new bond her siblings were getting with another, was it just going to fall apart again if they went back? And what about Narnia? The people needed their Kings and Queens around.

"Why Ed?"
He knew that his sister would ask him that. Why, why did he want to go back, there were so many reasons. Didn't she realize that there was another world outside of this one? Had the rest of his siblings forgotten about their own world? The world they were meant to be in, where they were meant to live?
Edmund looked up at Susan, "You don't know?" he said, a flash of anger in his eyes, and he stood up and leant against the lamp post. "Have you forgotten about our own world? The world where there is a war going on, where people drive around in cars, where people do NORMAL stuff?" he had started to walk up and down in front of Susan and stopped, staring at her.
"What would mother say if she knew about you getting married?" he asked, raising an eyebrow, "And Peter getting poisned...and I've been having bad dreams about the Witch recently but I didn't want to tell any of you cause you were too wrapped up in your own lives!" Edmund's eyes flashed again and he started to pace again. "This isn't real! Animals can't talk....it's all a dream, we are going to wake up in our beds in the old professor's house and realize that we are normal kids, from a normal place in the middle of a war! I've been thinking about this for a long long time, I've been trying to tell you but you wouldn't listen!" he stopped for breath and then carried on. "Have you been thinking about father? Do we know if he is dead or not?" he trailed off and sat down on the ground, pulling his knees up to his face and resting his chin on them, staring at his sister, awaiting her next words.

Susan seemed to pull back inside of herself, more and more as Edmund started to yell at her, and the young queen stood up abruptly, not looking at Ed, as if he had just hurt her in the worst possible ways, and actually, he had. Her eyes filled, and then Susan was at her breaking point, something inside her just seemed to snap. "Of course I remember! How could I not! You're acting like you know what I'm thinking, but obviously, you've still got a lot to understand, Edmund." Her words were cold, and tears started falling, but she was too upset to notice anything besides how hurt she was that Edmund would say that to her. He obviously didn't know her at all. The brunette glanced towards the wardrobe, and she seemed to be thinking of what would happen when they got back. Susan couldn't stand it, staying there and waiting for the worst to happen, and to know that the war could last for years. "Ed, I have been thinking about father. And how could I possibly understand what you're going through if you won't even tell me about any of it!" Susan's face was bright red, with anger, and the tears kept falling, as she tried to keep her voice even. It was hard though, because Edmund was one of the reasons she did not want to go back. The girl kept herself away from her brother, her back to him, shaking with each sob, and then she was ready to explain to Ed..."I don't want to go back when we've finally started being a family." Susan leaned her head back, and just let the wind wipe away the tears on her face, not sure what she would do now. She felt drained, arguing with her brother put great strain on her, and it really bothered her.

Edmund listened to her speak, he suddenly realized that he had acted a bit too fast and shouldn't have blown his top like that with Susan, she was already in a state as it was and she didn't need more. But then the tears came rolling down Susan's checks, she had been trying to stop herself from crying but had given in.
He stood up quickly, Susan had her back to him. "God, I'm sorry." he said, as he looked at her, tears starting to well up in his eyes now. "But serious, can't you see Su, we are not meant for this world..." he stopped. "We're just kids..." he glanced towards the light and back at Susan, he was right, or well at least he thought that he was, they were all just children, Peter wasn't even an adult yet.
But then Susan said about if they went back they would not be a family, "How can you say that?" Edmund asked, "We are family, and we always were and always will be, we are less like family here, what with all four of us nearly getting killed!" it was true, Edmund with the witch, Peter with the battle, Susan trying to kill her own self and Lucy...the younger sibling was in danger also. He stepped closer to Susan, touching her shoulder lightly to try and make her turn around.

Susan kept her back to Ed for a moment, trying to control herself, and she wiped her eyes, getting rid of the tears still trying to come out, and she breathed for a while, to keep herself from panicking, which she didn't do often, but it was best to avoid it anyway. Finally, she turned and faced her younger brother, her tear-stained face looking at him for a moment, before she decided to tell what she thought. "Maybe Narnia can teach us things. Maybe...we can learn to be better in our world after being here." Susan knew it may sound crazy, but somehow, she hoped it would be the case, because the Pevensie family really ought to learn how to really be a family. Susan knew she herself had a lot to learn, but she would gladly learn it, so that she could get along better with all her siblings. Her eyes flashed again at his words, and it was so obvious that she was trying to keep herself from bursting out with words she would later regret. "Ed, if you'll remember, back home we didn't get along whatsoever. You were constantly saying mean things to Lucy. Maybe you don't remember but I do. And I don't want to see you go back to being that way." Susan spoke as gently as she could, though she found it hard, because Ed was really agitating her, because he didn't understand what she was thinking, but really, she couldn't blame him for that. Mainly it was because, he seemed to think they had gotten along better in Finchley, which did not seem the case to Susan.

Edmund watched as his sister turned to face him, her face was red with crying. He bit his lip, he didn't mean to make her cry...or did he? Edmund listened to her words, he could tell she was trying to be nice to him but she had some sort of anger boiling up inside of her.
"Maybe Narnia can teach us things. Maybe...we can learn to be better in our world after being here." Edmund stared at Susan, he was still not buying what she was saying, "Its taught us how to fight, how to speak to animals..." Edmund trailed off as his sister spoke yet again.
"Ed, if you'll remember, back home we didn't get along whatsoever. You were constantly saying mean things to Lucy. Maybe you don't remember but I do. And I don't want to see you go back to being that way." "We won't go back like that, we've been in Narnia, we've come closer so you think so now we can go! Narnia is happy now, it doesn't need as, we defeated the witch what more could there be? And if we go back to the professor's house, all your and mine bad dreams will stop and we won't all be in danger!" Even though all hopes were fading for Edmund in trying to go back to England, he wanted to at least make his sister see the light that he was seeing.
It was getting rather warm and Edmund pulled off his first layer of clothing, showing underneath a white long shirt and sat down on the layer of clothing, crossing his legs and watching his sister.
