The freshly settled sand shifted under the brute's feet as he made his way across the barran landscape. His brown flecked pelt matched the landscape, had he not been on the move he could easily passed for part of the dry landscape. He cussed under his breath, he should have known the storm would hit. He'd called this barren place home sense birth, one would expect a wolf like him to know when a sandstorm would hit but that one had hit so suddenly that there was little time even to take cover. He shook himself off as he trotted across the hot ground, dust flew up from his coat and left a cloud of sand behind him. He growled at himself when he saw the water ahead, he had no idea how turned around he had gotten in the storm. He recognised this place, it had to be at least half a day's walk from his den. At least he could have a drink now and a short rest in the shade. Though he didn't enjoy this heat it bothered him very little and stand storms were part of life in a desert, if anything they were usually good. Maybe he could find the remains of some poor bird who had fallen victem to the winds and the sand.
He made it down to the water's edge and had a good long drink before he noticed he wasn't alone. At first he was unsure of what type of creature it was but only a moment after he realised it was a wolf. He stepped forward with caution, one could never be too careful. The desert was home to loners and outcasts, not many of them were the friendly type. He got close enough to see that the other wolf was sleeping, probably glad to have found shade like himself. He sighed, maybe he better just head home and forgett resting. Then again maybe this other wolf was unwell or lost, it wouldn't be right to take off. There was a good chance that the next wolf she would meet wouldn't be as kind as himself. He sighed, he just wanted to get back to his nice cool den. "Hello?" he barked over to the stranger, still keeping his distance.
