Nora sat at the edge of the river on a large rock. She let her feet dangle in the water as she watched a rather massive bird fly overhead. She sighed, it was hot out but the river was way to strong to go for a swim so she had to settle for dipping her feet in while Aiden tried to catch himself something to eat. She slid forward a little on the rock so her feet could be deeper in the water. The dark gold and brown bird circled above examinig the water in search of a fish big enough to fill his gut. His sharp eyes glanced over at his friend "Carefull!" he scolded her. She looked up at him with bright green eyes "You worrie too much!" she called back. The bird ignored her as he caught sight of a big salmon. He dove down towards the water, his claws running along the surface before they met the fish. He was quick to snatch it up and then took off again towards the shore. He landed on the ground near where Nora was. She looked over at the bird "Okay, lets go home. It's way too hot out" she said getting up. As she got up her foot slipped on the wet rock, for a second she almost caught her balance but was unable to keep it and a moment later she was in the river.
She felt herself being pulled down stream. Aiden screached and left his fish, flying after her. Nora could swim well enough but she wasn't strong enough to get herself out of the water and onto the shore. Aiden flew above her "I'll get help!" he shouted as Nora bobbed in the water, doing her best to keep her head obove water. "Hurry!" she caughed. The eagle flapped his wings and flew into the air, searching the ground desporat to catch site of anyone who could help. He was big but not big enough to pull a seventeen year old girl out of a river without getting pulled under himself. Meanwhile Nora was in the river grabbing at any rocks that came close to her but they were all too slippery.

Narros Astan was walking towards Cair Paravel when he came upon the great river. Its name suited it to a tee. It was a great big river, the waters were foaming by him. Suddenly he heard a hawk screach in terror and come flying towards him, crying out, "I'll get help!" Narros looked down to where the eagles gaze was directed, and saw a lady flailing about in the water. He took off running towards the girl, shouting, "Get close to the shore!" He hoped his deep voice would catch her attention. As she rushed along at the rivers pace, he got ready to grab her. When she was right next to him, he lunged at her, trying to catch her. His gauntleted fingers closed around her dress, and he started to pull. His battle with the river went on for what seemed like ages, but was actually mere seconds. When he finally got her out, he was far more tired than before. He knew this would slow him down, but she might be helpful. He started to dig in his bag for a blanket for the unfortunate soul, litanies and prayers passing between his lips as he worked.

Nora heard a deep voice over the sound of the water 'swim toward the shore' she couldn't reply but she did as the voice said. She could see someone running along the shore as she kicked her way towards the bank. She was exhausted but she had no choice but to keep kicking and do what she could to get closer to shore. It took a few minuets to get close enough but she finnaly was able to reach up and grab the man's hand. Before she had time to register what happened she found herself sitting on solid ground once more. Aiden flew down to meet her with his eyes wide "Are you alright?" he asked then looked at the stranger for a moment.
Nora nodded and then caughed up some water, then she was able to answer Aiden "Yes, im fine" she told him. She shivered, pulling her legs to her chest for warmth. Her soaken red hair stuck to her face and she pushed it out of the way. She looked at Narros "Thankyou, that was close" she said. She didn't know who he was, usualy she'd be more careful around strangers but he had just saved her life so she gave him the benefit of the doubt.

He had finally found a blanket for the girl and tossed it to her. He knew she was freezing, so might as well help. "No problem, your hawk friend was loud enough and I was close enough. You two should avoid that river, its nastier than any others I've seen." He wondered why she would even dream of swimming in there. "Well, I would think you and your friend would be hungry? I've got plenty of supplies, and I'm happy to give you some. So, whats your names? I'm Narros Astan, chaplain of Calormene."

Nora looked relieved as she took the blanket and slung it over her shoulders, instantly feeling the warmth. She sighed "Yes I should have known better than to get so close... Aiden was hunting. I was watching and I fell in" she explained, not wanting to look like some ideot who would jump in the river for a swim. She nodded when he asked if they were hungry, she didn't like being a bother but she was hangry and she knew Aiden was aswell seeing as she'd caused him to abandon his meal. "Im Nora and this is Aiden" she said gesturing to the rather large, dark coloured eagle. She noted that he said he was a Calormene, it made her wonder what he was doing in Narnia but she wasn't one to judge however being half Calormene herself. She looked to her friend again "Im sorry about your fish Aiden" she said with a frown, knowing how much the bird loved eating fish. Aiden shook his head, his feathers fluffing a little "I can catch another one just as easy" he told her.

Narros was glad she wasn't very hostile, some Narnians had wanted to kill him as soon as he mentioned he was Calormenian. "Ah, well, it wasn't your fault, just the darn current." he said,"Pleasure to meet you both. So, you want food, eh? I have some biscuits and fish, but not alot of either." Narros knew that his pack was lighter each day, and he was almost to Cair Paravel, so he could afford to be generous. At least, he thought, noone was angry, he had been in alot of scraps lately.
